Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham, Reiss Nelson… millions of pounds worth of talent that would find some Premier League academy boss purring.
Throw in Tottenham winger Ryan Sessegnon, Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes and Leicesters Demarai Gray and Theres the base of a England side that is future.
These youngsters have one thing in common – their first taste of the spotlight has been showcasing their talents duringstreet abilities sessions with friends in west London.
Dan Gayle is since they honed their approach in the nation, that the guy who started capturing the prodigies on movie.
He did so throughout his media video channel FFDTV, which he set up to reveal a fashion of soccer, with an emphasis on style and flair.
Now, seven years on, he has built on the first group of stars achievement by launching an academy that aims to provide other young hopefuls the opportunity to sign professional contracts.
FFDTV ballooned to an internet sensation and started with mates assembly up in parks to do skills and tricks.
Gayle would bill videos of his buddies showboating around Instagram and the clips started to find traction, but the stations big break came when potential celebrities Sancho and Nelson began attending sessions.
It just blew up from there – everyone began talking about it, the video reached about 60 countries, said Gayle, 31.
As word spread, young players from all over the nation wanted to get to flaunt their talents.
This was a certain calibre of player and everybody understood what they were in for when they came , said Gayle. If you get nutmegged, you receive nutmegged and it can go viral – thats just a part of it!
It was skills-based sessions, just three v four or three v four at which you express yourself. No rules – they learned to perform .
Theres nothing like playing in the park with your mates, but competitively – and you know the cameras are there and then you do not need to get embarrassed. Its so different to being in the academy.
in the nation, as the stable of players that took part in the sessions of Gayle have become understood, brought together some of their most talented players Team FFD. The character of the football on show meant most were technically gifted flair players blessed with an arsenal of tips.
And they were starting to enjoy success in the field – many of Englands Under-17 World Cup-winning team in 2017 was to a FFD session.
It is like a football family, off the pitch the boys are very close, said Gayle. There is a team of us now who believed years ago that the English game would change and you would see a good deal of youthful, skilful players. Thats what we thrive on.
When we began we wanted to demonstrate England have players that individuals more frequently than not youd associate with South American nations or Spain – that has been a special time since that age group was just world class.
This Under-17 Planet Cup-winning side boasted Team FFD stars such as Crystal Palace midfielder Nya Kirby, Sancho Gomes City playmaker Phil Foden along with Monaco defender Jonathan Panzo – that the very first player born in the 2000s to appear at the Premier League.
Sancho has excelled both because his transfer to Borussia Dortmund and was a routine in the recent England squads of Gareth Southgate.
Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi linked with a move to Bayern Munich in January forced his Three Lions debut before suffering an Achilles injury.
Forward Abrahamback with Chelsea after numerous loan spells, is another to have been set by England, while Foxes winger Gray has a Premier League winners medal and left-sided participant Sessegnon featured regularly from the top-flight for Fulham final term before linking Spurs in the summertime.
Meanwhile, among the oldest members of Team FFD, along with childhood friend of Sancho, is Arsenal ahead Nelson. This past season last season impressed at side Hoffenheim on loan and has emerged as part of the Gunners first-team squad.
With many of Team FFD members fully fledged professionals, Gayle and co have set about attempting to make a route to the sport for aspiring youngsters.
They put up an academy two years ago to train and polish their gamers, and provide them a chance to place themselvesin the store window with matches against professional clubs; theres also a wise mobile program where scouts can follow their progress.
Its proved effective, also.
After whittling tens of tens of thousands of applicants into a pool of gamers that they felt comfortable working with, the academy staff have seen two of their fees sign professional contracts at Championship outfit Derby County, several go on trial together with Premier League sides along with others make moves to Portugal and Sweden.
We take pride in being able to identify and develop young players, said Gayle, who has established good connections with a lot of specialist clubs.
The primary aim is to demonstrate you could play totally free, that being yourself is the perfect way to be. You have to comprehend your strengths although you do not have to worry skilful.
Everybodys journey is different – some players are in nightclubs because before they are 10 years older and a few arrive afterwards. We are offering something different, something extra. That is something that I take inside a whole lot of pride. That represents us.
